I was reading about how to get a GeForce 7300GT to work on Leopard. I was looking very confusing. So, I decided to scrap the directions and just try plugging it in. Well, my computer automatically detected it, and Mac OS 10.5 detected it right away, and everything is working.

Core Image, Quartz Extreme, and Rotation. I haven't tried Dual Screens because I don't have two monitors, but I will eventually.

Anyways, it is the GeForce 7300 GT 256MB 128-bit (Chaintech Brand) Device ID: 0x0393. I got it from NewEgg.com and after Mail-In Rebate, it was only about $40 including shipping! The MIR expires Nov.

11th I think. Here is the link: Hope this works for everybody. It's great getting hardware to work out of the box. By the way, I installed Leopard using the BrazilMac patch from the original DVD. Has anyone else had this great success!?

Follow that carefully. It will fully work. Already tried it too. Unfortunately it didn't work either. I think the problem has to do with my monitor detection. According to /var/log/windowserver.log file, when I boot with original leo kexts the monitor resolution is detected flawlessly (however I don't get QE/CI).

Nevertheless, with modified kexts, the resolution is no longer detected (resolution is shown as '-1x-1' in windowserver.log). By the way, I have found EDID errors on linux, but both linux and tiger ignore the lack of EDID information from the monitor and force a reasonable resolution (1024x768). But leo apparently needs such data and due to the lack of it, leo just doesn't know what to do and then the screen goes black (not suitable for the monitor). Just guessing. If u want 7300GT with QE/CI, check my sig.

The kext should work good morning!!! I'm from italy, and i'm registered from two weeks in the italian sub forum.

What a perfect forum!!! And now.ehm.excuse if i revive this old post, but i've buy a geforce 7300 gt 512 mb pcie last week, and.simply don't work with leo 10.5.2. Your patch is also for pci-e 512mb version? It need to repair permission (chown chmod, diskutil.)?

And, what about modifying bios for 512 mb pcie cards wrote in nvinjects site? And of course.excuse me for this ugly ugly english!!! Here is my story with nVidia 7300 GT (Asus) on 10.5.8 Leopard (upgrade from 10.5.2kalyway) First I tried EFI Strings, with UInstaller, EFIStudio and osx86tools. All of them gave me a BLACK SCREEN. NVInject, NVEnabler, NVKush.Titan,Natit. I think i tried all the possibilities.

Nothing worked. No QE no ressolutions, Mac froze, panic, or BlackScreen. Every time my system crashed i had to enter save mode and remove the kexts or enter SingleUser mode and remove NVDAResman.kext. I learned about all that, and some terminal commands. From this site. Because I didn't know s-t.

So thank you! After a few days I finnaly succeeded to crash my system once for all. So I reinstalled the OS - kalyway 10.5.2, i selected NVInject 256mb. Fully working with QE/CI and resolutions. So I installed the iDeneb Combo Update 10.5.8 again.

And after restart, no QE/CI. And I tried NVInject. Black screen again. I didn't give up.

Found this iAtkos v7. I installed it and selected nVinject (cause i knew that it worked for me once) and.fully working again! This version is good for me. I won't update! I needed at least 10.5.7. Sry for my eventually bad english, and thank you!

This is my first post but i learned everything from here, you helped me -indirectly. Now I switched from Win to Mac. I would buy a Mac if I had the money. Hope i will.someday.
