Monoprice Usb 2.0 Lan Drivers For Mac

This product is advertised as working with all versions of Windows through Windows 7 and all versions of Mac OS X 10.5 and above. The drivers included on the CD were written for version 10.6 to 10.8 and at first the unit would not work with Mavericks (10.9). I called Monoprice's excellent Support people and was provided with a link for the latest drivers from the chip manufacturer. The driver was written Dec 15, 2014 and says it works with Mavericks and with Yosemite. You need these drivers from ASIX for the AX88772B chip for these OS versions. It works great! The current link for drivers is PROS: Vert fast internet service through USB3 port.

CONS: Drivers were not included with the product in the first place, but I was given a link to them by Support. I ordered this knowing that it did not work with OS X Mavericks out of the box. I downloaded the driver from the manufacturers website (asix.tw), Installed it, rebooted and I was off and running with Ethernet connectivity. I'm writing this review while connected via this dongle.

Since the website is not really English friendly, here is a direct link to the driver download. Scroll to the bottom of the page where it says Drivers.

Mac OS X 10.9 is the first driver listed. It is a version 1.0 driver released back in November 2013.

It would be a good idea to check back later to see if they revise the driver. Driver Link: It would be nice if Monoprice provided this link for its customers - so non-technical people dont have to go on a wild driver hunt. Lastly, my Macbook Air doesn't seem to have any issue(s) after installing the driver. No hangs or freezes. I just swallowed a huge OS X 10.9.1 update - no problemo. The installer package does have an uninstaller in the event you need to back the driver out. PROS: Excellent price.

I like that it is low power. CONS: Did not work with my new MacBook Air with OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) out of the box. But I knew this from reading the reviews.

Via a php website script or to send commands to my TiVo over IP.or IR commands to GlobalCache iTach devices.jsonrpc for xbmc, view my security cameras, I even use it to control my arduino relay boards and display real time energy usage from my openenergymonitor boards sent to the iPads via udp broadcast messages. Command fusion gui designer for mac.

One of the best purchases I've made on Monoprice. It's worked everywhere I've tried it. Low power must be true as it has next to no heat output (especially compared to some others) Based on the ASIX AX88772B (0b95:772b) Even Raspberry Pi works.

I highly recommend this. PROS: Worked out of the box. Supported in Linux out of the box. Works on chromebooks too, including my Samsung ARM based one. Does not get more than just mildly warm. I can get darn near 90Mbs out of it with tests.

Monoprice Usb Wireless Adapter Driver

CONS: Yet to run into anything. I wish Monoprice would put chipset info on their product pages.
