Droboshare Dashboard For Mac
Droboshare After installing Dashboard on my droboshare went on to install Pure-ftpd was able to ftp to my droboshare and its request for user and password screen to which I entered User:root and Password:root as per the the applications notes. Unfortunately got a 530 error. After doing some research found a user in a forum stating before you can use FTP to the droboshare you must log in via SSH and change the permissions to the file in question, pure-ftpd, on the droboshare. So downloaded and installed Dropbear, using the manual mode. Checking the folders via the windows vista folders all the files were there as described in the install notes. SSH installed complete. The instructions mentioned I should log in using a terminal window and with Hyperterminal no longer supported went out and found app called terminals as a replacement.

When I attempt to log in with user root and password root I get Telnet/ssh in the title bar of window asking for user-name, once that is filled in second window opens asking for password. I use root for both entry requests. The only other default user and password I could find on the net for this combinations was I believe admin and giveit2me but these did not work either. Well now I was in a maddening pete and repete circle.can't login to change the ftp permissions via SSH. So after some reading it was thought the port for SSH should be checked and made sure it was listening.
This took some research but found a program which will tell you exactlly that, called paping. I ran it and it confirmed my worst fears the SSH port 22 was not listening. I tried it on the FTP port 21 and it was fine. How to completely uninstall and clean paragon ntfs for mac 15. So with Data Robotics no longer supporting my older Drobo and DroboShare I am at a loss.
